I am so glad I found your site.Just stuffed up and failed a summer unit.But I’m not going to beat myself up for my failures, academic or otherwise. I’m going to stop feeling sick and disappointed with myself and get on with it – my nursing degree. I know that failure does not mean the end of the world,which is why I went looking for positive re-enforcement online.

Hi Fusebox,

It would take me forever to tell you about my life goals... but it's fair to say that, from a career perspecitve if I can combine my passions (teaching, writing, speaking, media, philosophy, health, fitness, psychology and a lot of laughing) and then somehow wrap them around a career then I can (1) be happy (2) help others (3) get paid to do what I love (4) continue to learn and grow.

Stop making me think!

The main thing with your post is that is you must believe, have faith and persist.

Craig, questions I want to ask you. How far ahead do you plan your life? What primary goal(s) do you want to achieve in the next 10 years?

Hi Wally.

Yep.
It is 1600.
Monday to Friday we do about 300 sessions per day (remembering they can be 30, 45 or 60 mins) and on Saturdays we do about 100. We are open 16 hours per day and at the moment I have 48 Trainers on the floor...I have 8 PT's who over 400 sessions per week just between themselves!

Of course it varies... but we're busy!

I'll answer generally:
1) Business partnerships... be very careful!
2) I wasn't 'hands on' enough.
3) Lack of planning
4) No real USP (Unique Selling Proposition)
5) Too 'reactive' and not pro-active enough

Is this a typo? Your gym does 1600 personal training sessions every week. Thats over 80,000 sessions per year.
I assume all sessions are by appointment. Is this right? If so that is one amazing statistic!

Cannot say I have heard the term "Stuff Up" before but it's meaning is clear.

You may not have enough time right now but can you tell me some of the main reasons why the following businesses failed? What are the top 3-5 things we need to avoid to be successful?

Craig, saw you on 9am a couple of months ago and promptly logged in to check out your site, you had me in stitches with your blog.
I have recently been thinking of getting a small business going just to get out and start something, today was the day of registering the Name/ABN etc. and I stumble upon your page again, talk about timing, if I had any doubts before, reading your blog squashed them.
