Hi, Craig,

Thanks for pointing out that momentum is the product of mass and velocity. Instead of increasing the velocity, which is hard to do, I think I'm going to increase my mass. Now I'm off to eat a stick of butter covered in caramel.

Thanks again!

Hi Michelle.

Momentum (that we've created) carries us through the times when we're lacking discipline... we just keep 'doing' because we're in a routine or pattern... not because we're particularly disciplined.

Cheers.

Hi Julie.

I get that it's tough to keep doing what you need to when you have little tackers...
But the good news is you don't need to go outdooors or to a gym to sweat or get your heart rate up.

Find stuff you can do at home which will at least get you over the hump.
Here are some ideas..
1) Skipping (burns twice the cals of jogging)
2) Step ups
3) Stair walking/running
4) Circuit training
5) Bodyweight training
6) Interval tranining on a stationary bike, rower, stepper, strider...

Good luck.

Find stuff you can do at home which will at least get you over the hump.
Here are some ideas..
1) Skipping (burns twice the cals of jogging)
2) Step ups
3) Stair walking/running
4) Circuit training
5) Bodyweight training
6) Interval tranining on a stationary bike, rower, stepper, strider…

Good luck.

I like reading your articles craig, but i have a problem with this one. I've got two children under the age of 3, so keeping the momentum going is a little hard when my schedule gets broken due to tiredness, illnesses, tantrums, breast feeding, etc etc. I'm not trying to make excuses, but i try really hard to go to the gym, or go for a walk, anything! at least 3-4 times a week. Then something happens to throw me off, and it's hard to get back into it. My momentum is consistently interrupted. and it's not like i don't like excercising... I love it! Any advice here?
thanks for the interesting, thought provoking reading.

This may sound a bit ignorant but what is the difference between momentum and self discipline?
