I've just a bit of breakthrough about this kind of issue for myself. Although I thought I had it all together concerning my attitude towards myself, last weekend I had an epiphany, where I felt unplugged. What come out or up for me re this experience of being uplugged, was some aspect of my low selt esteem that I had hidden away from my conscious mind for too long. I saw how on some subliminal level I had been judging myself by my body (as had others) and outer circumstances more and more, especially as my health has been challenging me now for too long and I feel myself aging. I no longer feel I need to justify myself to criticisms to do with my health or aging body. After all when I leave this life I will leave my body behind. I will be in a place where my true spiritual being can be appreciated and seen for what it really is. Not some kind of an illusion that this world creates or sets up for us. As far as what others will say about me when I'm gone. That's their business, not mine. When I leave this level of existence I hope I will no longer be dependant on the approval or disapproval of others in any way. Bottom line for me is, we are not always who we think we are.
