Think Less, Do More.

Hello Kids

Sorry, no article this fine Friday, I’m kinda crazy busy. Today the practical realities and commitments of my life have over-ridden my creative need (to write), my desire to produce something motivational and educational for you before we head into the weekend and of course my incredible insecurity about keeping you all happy! In other words, I have to do some real work today. Just thought I would remind you Melbournians who are interested in (1) developing your public speaking skills or (2) becoming a professional/motivational speaker, that I am running a three-hour speaking workshop from my Brighton centre tomorrow (Saturday) from 2 – 5pm. If you are a complete novice or if you have a little speaking experience that you would like to build on, you will find the content (and hopefully the presenter) interesting, practical, relevant and helpful. If you are interested you can book here (scroll down the page, bottom left) or you can chat to Mikey (Johnny is away) on 03 9553 8857.

Have a great weekend Grasshoppers and instead of simply knowing what to do (the theory), why don’t you start doing (applying) what you know (the practical)? If you want better, do better. If you want different, do different. If you want to create exceptional outcomes, then do exceptional things. You know that whole over-thinking and under-doing thing is gonna drive you nuts right? Just a thought. Actually, more than a thought.

Ciao x

Hi Craig,

Why do you refer to your readers as “Grasshoppers” ?

Hi S

It’s a bit of fun taken from the old TV show ‘Kung Fu’ – the Master used to call his student “Grasshopper”. So for me, anyone who is on the path of learning and growing (including myself) is a “Grasshopper”.

Weird I know.

Cheers…

Craig,
I really really like your column. You have an uncanny ability to cut through bull, particularly the bull we tell ourselves so we don’t have to face who we really are and what we’re avoiding, and yet you do it in a compassionate and understanding way.

So this is why a. I’m disappointed that i. there’s no column today, ii you have insecurities and b. I’m asking, could you please tell us sometime when you’re not so busy, what you do, when someone you have to associate with drives you mad and not in a good way? How do you deal with rude and obnoxious drama queens who hold onto grudges and like to be passive aggressive? Can you let it go, and how? Or does it bother you and cause your bile to rise?

PS Take it easy, eh? and thanks.

I have to be up amongst Australia’s top ‘over-thinkers’! Unfortuneately, there are no rewards or recognition for people who think a lot and do little. It’s definitely time for CHANGE. 2008 is certanly coming to a close rather quickly. I would like to dedicate the remaining weeks of 2008 to kick-starting my Life Renovation (with your help!). I’m going to book the Syd RYL workshop tomorrow. Can’t do it today as have money in wrong account! (I have to simplify my bank accounts one day).

Thanks Craig. Really looking forward to seeing you in a few weeks. I *really* do want ‘better’, and ‘different’ and to create ‘exceptional’ in many areas of my life. I’m just a bit stuck at the moment and have been suffering ‘analysis paralysis’ for far too long.

Hi Joy – I don’t let people like that have any of my emotional energy or attention – people like that can only affect us if we let them….. stress, annoyance and anxiety are personal responses – you won’t change her/him but you can change you (how you let them impact on you)…

Cheers
