Well Groovers, the GYST challenge starts in a matter of hours.. it’s late-ish Sunday afternoon here in the land down under and I have just arrived home from spending most of the day with dear-old Dad, on Dad’s day.
A bit of father-son bonding… you could smell the testosterone from down the street.
A lot of arm-wrestling, grunting, eating of charred animal flesh and watching of football.
(To my vego Friends, I’m kidding).
(About the arm-wrestling).
Happy Dad’s day Old Fella.
Of all my Dads, you’re my favorite.
So anyway, I had a quick scan to see how many people have decided to change their life (or part there-of) and the answer is… a whole bunch.
I want to encourage you guys and girls to have a real crack (Aussie for try hard) at this.
If you do it right, it can and will be, a life-changing process.
If you do it wrong it will be another ‘dumb’ thing’ that ‘didn’t work’.
No pressure, just honesty.
By the way, it’s not about whether or not ‘it’ works (a very common expression), it’s about whether you work for it.
Don’t forget to keep us updated with your Monday progress reports (from next Monday of course)… these are an important part of your accountability… your reports can be ten words or two hundred; it’s up to you.
And to:
Doug (New Mexico), Lili Ann, Sandi, Angela, Barb J, Anne, Jessie, Leigh, Jodie, Elroy, Sue Reid, Diane (Sydney), Leah K, Jess K, Dee Britton, Kirsten, KK, Virginia (Melbourne), Clare H, Tim (Chicago), Kate, Pip, Miss Beck, Sal, Frank, Louie (Phoenix), Jen (Mildura), Ganesh (India), Tami (US), Barney, Kaddy, Snoskred, Julie (Hobart), Kerry, Finn, April Groves, M, Dianned1, Amanda B, Amber Jordon, Debbie, Irene N, Kristy, Leann, Pip Dodds, tlee, Andy, Charmaine Connolly, Kelvin (US) and Sepyroth…
I wish you guys all the best.
I wanna hear all about the amazing stuff you’re doing.
I will be writing a post tonight (for tomorrow) exploring the concept of creating forever results (verses the short-term change we typically see and experience).
This will be an invaluable help for you guys… if you put the ideas in action.
Gigantic group hug from uncle Craig… ( )

Hi Craig.
You’re a freak. I don’t know how you do all the stuff you do or where you find the energy. On behalf of me and all my friends who hang out on your site regularly and constantly get fed amazing stuff for free with no hooks, catches or agendas, thankyou so much.
The amazing thing about the challenge you have created is that you get nothing out of it. I was talking to my wife about this and we believe it is unique to find someone who genuinely just wants to help people.
We love your no bullshit style and we greatly appreciate what you’re doing for so many people.
Love and hugs, Nick and Amy.
Hi Nick and Amy.
I get heaps out of it… just no money.
You are welcome.
Love and hugs back.
Mainly for Amy!
Hi Craig,
These several days have been quite busy for me. The lease of my old apartment ended on August 31 and I was looking for a place to live for a few days without any results. I was about to move home and commute but then I found a place on August 30. And I’ve been packing and moving ever since. That’s why I’ve been putting this off because I serious didn’t know where I would be on September 3rd.
That said, I’ve moved into a new place. I used to live with a roommate and we both tend to go to sleep at 4am, and it worked out pretty well for the both of us. I mean, I have a very flexible work schedule and I like to stay up and then sleep in. Now my new apartment-mate is more of the morning person and our apartment is more families than college students, I’d like to move my schedule too. So now my goal is to go to bed before 2:30am (which is pretty early for me, although it’s really late for most people) and I’m allowed to break the rule once a week.
Let’s see what happens. =)
Hey Craig,
Have to totally agree with Nick and Amy!
Must say I’m a bit nervous this challenge as I’ve stated basically I intend to get my shit together all at once, – and to be the start of once and all! Means more of me sticking to my commitments LOL!
Glad you had a great fathers Day. My Dad flew from NZ to Sydney today and is off to France to the Rugby World Cup tomorrow! Go the All Blacks!
Pip
Hey Kel.
2.30!!.. Dude, I’m in a coma by 2.30…
You’re in Buddy.
Peace.
Hi Pip.
Focus on the short term…but have a long-term mentality.
Deep breaths… ready, set… go Pip.
Hi all,
just wanted to let you know that the mere fact of reading about a group of people who are setting real definite goals, and are willing to write about it on the internet is a inspiration in itself! (for those among us.. uhhh … less brave
)
GOOD FOR YOU! All the strength to you all!!
Craig my sincere respect to you for what you are doing, your blog is an inspiration in itself!!
E.
p.s. never knew that Father’s day isn’t a global thing. Ours is in June!
Hi E.
June!
What kinda weirde-ass month is that for fathers day (LOL)?!!
Peace.
So it’s not too late to join the GYST Challenge then????? (even though as I type this I’m eating breakfast Monday morning!!)
Count me in. I’ve been thinking about what I really want to achieve – it’s clear to me I need (and want)to stop abusing my body with poor “food choices” and start exercising regularly (again). Specifically:
1. Focus on eating wholegrain foods/fresh fruit and vegies, “junk food” free 6 days a week (i.e. 1 free-choice day a week)
2. Portion control, portion control, portion control. Enough said on that one.
3. Exercise of some kind for at least 30min daily.
4. Join a regular yoga class.
5. Include time daily for “me” – reflections or activities that aim to enhance my self worth (lots of mumbo-jumbo for saying I want to do things that make me feel great about myself!)
…The weight loss will just be a nice added bonus.
Above all I am striving for balance, consistency and having fun
Jessie
Hi Craig,
Nick and Amy are spot on it is amazing that there is someone out there geniunely giving of their time and not wanting anything in return. I am a strong believer in karma and so I think you will be engulfed with some lovely warm fuzzy stuff in your life
Have a great day and to everyone doing the challenge enjoy the experience.
Charmaine
Hi Charmaine.
Thankyou.. looking forward to the warm and fuzzy
( )
its on …I so need to quietly learn how to breath and move all over again !…count me in
Unsure where to put this so placed here, its a message from one frump to another (hi Anne)! Just remebered a great quote when it comes to looking after yourself, maybe you will think I am a little weird too after reading this.
“For the world to treat you well, you have to treat yourself well. How can you feel like a mover and shaker if you have holes in your underwear?” Andrew Matthews
Maybe not only your shoes need replacing!!!
Charmaine
I am so excited about the challenge. I went to the gym tonight for the first time in about 2 or 3 months and did a pump class, I know if it wasn’t for the challenge I wouldn’t have got off my arse and did it. Can’t wait to report in next Monday!
C’MON KATIE-PIE!!!
IMPRESS MY SOCKS OFF… I DARE
YOU!!
Hey I am off to a flying start already- already found a new home to move to and the timing will be perfect – in my holidays! Started packing in the ‘shed’ where all my crafty crap is and put some stuff on one side – mum and dad’s for now (cos there aint enough space where I am going) and the other side ready to go with me. Made another ‘dig deep’ post to the counsellor too. Spent some time out with freinds on the weekend too- And yes Nick and Amy are right – THANKYOU Craig!
I wish all of us the very best GYST time. Off to read what others are doing!
