GYST Challenge in Review.

Well Groovers the GYST Challenge is indeed done and dusted.
All over Red Rover.
Put down yer glasses, bar’s closed.
Finito, completo.
Done-orama.

As lame as this may sound (if you’re a cynic), I want to tell you guys that I’m genuinely proud of you all for having a go, getting off your collective asses and facing your fears. Reading over your updates has made me cry more than once… and yes, I know I’m putting my alpha-male reputation at risk by sharing that.
I’ll take that chance.

We had some mixed results; some people didn’t get past the first few days and others worked their asses off (literally on occasion) and submitted updates for the twenty eight days, but overall, I feel it was a positive experience.
You?

Some thoughts moving forward:

1) As I’ve said many times, this little project of ours was a starting point for something incredible if you made it that. There’s no use gettin‘ all busy and excited for twenty eight days and then going back to… ‘normal’.
Normal sucks.
Normal schmormal.

By the way, one of the best ways for you to stay focused and motivated (personally) is to invest your energy into helping others be all they can be (trust me on this, it works). Helping others to do cool stuff and change their reality is all the motivation I need. I don’t have to ‘motivate’ myself because I am constantly inspired by you guys and everyone else I work with.

2) I was gonna hand out a couple of small encouragement prizes to people who I felt had done something special over the GYST journey… but then I got to reading all the updates and I thought that it wouldn’t be fair to single out a few.
So you’re all getting nuthin‘.
Donuts.
Zippo.
Okay?

Oh all right…

Everyone who has submitted all four weekly updates by midnight tonight Melbourne time (and no, you can’t send in weeks two and three now!) will receive a copy of each of my little books (a $20.00 gift from me to you).

Yep, I’m ace. Say it out loud.

All you need to do is send your name and a postal address via our website email by this Friday (Oct. 5)… and you should get your books within a week if you’re in Oz and two weeks if you’re from some far-away land.

3) While some of you would love the GYST to be an on-going (as in 365 day) Challenge, Johnnie would have a nervous breakdown and die of exhaustion if I made that decision.
However, I have decided that on Monday the 29th of October we will have a post-GYST Challenge update (for those who wish to be involved).
28 days after the 28 days, so to speak.

So you have another four weeks (and a lifetime) to do something amazing and to keep those wheels turning.
Again you will submit an update, again I will read all of them, and again you will be given the opportunity to encourage and support each other via this site.

4) Johnnie has done a HUGE amount of work on this Challenge to make it all work practically and technically. He works tirelessly, makes my life easy and does way more than he needs to. He is the real deal and in many ways is more integral to the site than the ex-fat kid.
Love you Johnnie – thanks.

Send Johnnie a hug if you get the chance.
(You too boys; he loves those man hugs)
Not.

We’re working on it.

Congrats to my GYST team:
Janine, Ron D, Madelyn (the writer), Ute, Ellen, Greg, Justice, Elle, Michelle (Tasmania), Tami 2, Moyra, Melissa (New Zealand), ST and her anonymous sister, Ceridwen, Doug (New Mexico), Lili Ann, Sandi, Angela, Barb J, Anne, Jessie, Leigh, Jodie, Elroy, Sue Reid, Diane (Sydney), Leah K, Jess K, Dee Britton, Kirsten, KK, Virginia (Melbourne), Clare H, Tim (Chicago), Kate, Pip, Miss Beck, Sal, Frank, Louie (Phoenix), Jen (Mildura), Ganesh (India), Tami (US), Barney, Kaddy, Snoskred, Julie (Hobart), Kerry, Finn, April Groves, M, Dianned1, Amanda B, Amber Jordon, Debbie, Irene N, Kristy, Leann, Pip Dodds, tlee, Andy, Charmaine Connolly, Kelvin (US) and Sepyroth

Group hug… ( )

Hi Craig,

I absolutely loved doing this GYST challenge and felt that it was a hugely positive experience. The oportunity to be accountable to more than just me and my conscience has been invaluable. But even more fabulous than this has been the inspiration and motivation I have gained from reading everyone elses updates…you guys totally ROCK!
I cant wait to read all the updates at the end of October…
Johnnie, what can I say, you are simply ACE… I have seen you in action and you dont stop!!
BIG HUGS from me…
Craig, once again, thank you, thank you, thank you!! A BIG HUG for you too…
Amanda B
P.S. Craig, hope you had a fabulous birthday and that there was some cheesecake left for you to enjoy… ( )

Hi Amanda. B.

Thanks for your nice words and yes, I have eaten far (double far) too much cheesecake over the last week.

But I don’t really care.

Hi Craig
Eventhough i didn’t formally register for your GYST challenge, I made some resolutions and tried to stick to them for 3.5 weeks. I didn’t do the full 4 weeks coz i only started reading your posts after the GYST challenge had started. It was a great motivator reading the updates from other participants, and your motivational articles. I feel like i achieved my goals, and now i’m going to set some more for the following month. i’ve never been one for goal setting or planning, but I think it actually has merit. thanx for the insight and motivation. Love your work!
Julia

How cool another 28 days wonder what changes can be achieved then, I suppose I have how many days to think about it. I am a little bit behind but I gather from the video post Johnnie works behind the scenes to make Craig Harper’s life a little bit easier, but who is he and maybe he should share 50 things about him!!!! Thanks also I think I am getting a book :)

Greetings C&J
…. You fellas are great! The dynamic cyber-duo, if you will! I am a bad GYSTer and did not send official weekly updates, but my heart was in it all the way! Johnnie, big ()()()s for you! You deserve a much better costume than Robin… something more noble.. perhaps knightly even!

I can’t wait for the next video clip… I enjoy the genuine interaction from you both, Johnnie’s laugh is infectious and Craig’s just too witty for live TV! Big ()()()s for you too!

Keep up the great work fellas… we visiting “fans” are watching and working toward our own amazing!

Now Tami,

while we appreciate the love… if you’ve likened Johnnie to Robin, then that would make me you-know-who and you know what I think of ‘he’ with the plastic abs, the stupid fibreglass car an the ridiculous cave!

I know that the GYST challenge is over, but where did the GYST stuff go? I haven’t finished reading all of the updates. Can you somehow put all the GYST stuff eg updates & messages of support in an archive area so that we can look at it?
Looks like a job for – SUPER JOHNNIE!!!
Also I was hoping to send a message of support to my fellow GYSTers, but will do it here instead. To everyone who achieved something over the 28 days no matter how big or small – congratulations!!. Can’t wait to hear from you GYSTers again.
Debbie -I really hope you have a fantastic time on your cruise and will be expecting to hear about your wonderful progress at the next GYST update. To Dee – Thankyou for your message. I am definitely keen to email or contact by phone. It would be great to bounce ideas off each other and provide support. It seems we are heading in the same direction.

My email address is:
leanem@adam.com.au

I am happy to provide support to anyone in their journey – losing weight getting fit, healthier lifestyle etc just email me.

(Craig can you delate the last para and forward my email address to Dee directly if you don’t think it is appropriate for me to provide my email address via this forum).

Thanks all – I am truly inspired

ooops my email address was wrong in the comment I just sent! I have resent comment below with correct email address. I went for a hard run this morning and afterwards felt really tired but at the same time energised, but now I can’t even spell my own name! I still knew which house to return to on my run though so I haven’t totally lost it!

Hi Leanne M.

Nice gesture… the more we give, we the more we get. If only more people TRULY understood that (practically not just theoretically).

The GYST link will be back up today.. I’ll get baldy on it.

Thanks Leanne.
