Book Reviews 16 & 17… and Workshop News

Hi Team. Take a look at book reviews 16 and 17 by Victoria May and Kris Rollag here. Feel free to comment on the reviewed books, to encourage our reviewers, or just say hi and add your thoughts.

Also….

If you take a peek in the right sidebar, you will see the Renovate Your Life workshop link. Click on that bad boy and you can find out all about our upcoming one-day workshop on June 22. I will do my best to be politically incorrect, highly offensive, mildly amusing and possibly to squeeze in some inspiration and education if we have time. We’ll see how we go – don’t wanna over do it with too much of that weird-ass Personal Development stuff. Anyway, if you get all inspired and decide to book a place in the next day or three, Johnnie will give you a $30.00 Early Bird Discount if you contact him and book in before 5pm next Monday, April 14 (Melbourne time). See the attached photo to get an idea of what our last workshop was like. If you look hard through the smoke, the lights and the arms of the screaming fans you can just make out my lean, muscular silhouette.

And… Our Accountability Partner thingy is well under way and Baldy and his team of cyber-geeks have almost got it sorted. We (okay they, not me) are in the process of developing a forum to facilitate the whole thing. It should be up and running this time next week, so we’ll keep you posted.

Enjoy your weekend, do something spectacular, don’t eat your own body-weight in fast food and I’ll see you Monday with a post that will definitely be of interest to many of you – Biology isn’t Destiny - a little exploration into creating our best body despite our genetics.

Ciao.

Hi Victoria and Kris. As someone who battles both anxiety and obesity these are two books I need to find. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction – Claire.

Craig: If I didn’t live thousands of miles away I would be at the front of the line to do your workshop.

You’re site will do for now. Thanks for all you do.

Claire.

Hi Craig. I think the $195.00 for your workshop is a good deal but the $2,000 air-fare to get there might kill me – and might not thrill my husband! Do you do the same, or similar workshops, in the States?

Pretty please?

Great reviews by everyone. Kris, I love the quote about being your own superhero! I’m a quote addict and would love more quotes from future reviewers.

Craig, is there any chance you will ever do a similar workshop in Sydney?

Thanks! Julie

Hi Caroline… you mean I’m not worth $2,195.00 for one day?

Hmmm, good point.

I’ll keep you posted on the US thing.

Cheers.

HI Julie. If you get a hundred of your closest friends, I’ll be there.

Seriously, I do stuff in Sydney a lot but it’s usually corporate work – not open to the general public stuff – I’m in Sydney six times in the next month!!

Cheers

Hi Craig

We head off middle of June so the seminar thingy is out, sadly. there is no “Yes/but”. It would be kinda cool to meet you though. I often wonder about the people who come and see you for pt…….and I wonder why I havent phoned you to do pt myself since I live relatively close compared to where i will be living in 2 months time. I suppose it would be nice to have someone like you to feel accountable to being so far away. Some one to say ” Pen, how’s your arse shrinking?” But then, Im probably the only person here who doesnt feel quite right about the accountability thing that you are setting up either. Strange, I know. No, thats not what I mean. Why should seeing you, as apposed to my personal trainer suddenly make me take a bit more control of my eating and exercise habits at the moment? Are you just more honest? Do you charge more $ and therefor i would work harder to get my money’s worth? Would I only work harder because I want to impress you? I think I would be scared that you would tell me to move my fat arse. Are these rude questions? Im sorry if they are. These questions have more to do with me. Why would coming to see you give me better results? Its not about you, its about me.

Im doing this thing ( or not doing- as the case may be) called “war of the waistline”. Its a 12 week challenge. Now for the first 4 weeks, i was gunning it. I love the gym- no two ways about it. Then we found out that we were moving earlier. And my god, did we have to swing into action. Paper work, renovating, not wanting to dump my daughter with just anyone, so that I could go to the gym became my priority. Got run down ( not by a car, sadly) and stressed out ( Man!) Got the flu. Got the flu again. I feel like I am always justifying to my pt why Im not ” with the program”. Its a flipping 12 week program. It doenst mean that at the end of the 12 weeks that I just resort back to my old ways, does it?. Infact, I havent really had old ways for a long time now. I have lost a total of 30kilos. But because Im not at the gym every second of the day the way I used to , I must admit I feel like a failure. I signed up to do this thing, but things changed 4 weeks in. I never would have believed there was so much involved with selling up and moving overseas. What an ignorant nong i was.

I guess I would like to do the seminar thing, but then I could come and see you for pt and then I think, why? You know what you need to be doing Pen- do you really need someone to tell you?

You know what, I probably sound like a tool…this is such a stream of conciousness isnt it?

Hey, by the way, heard from Ange lately?

Pen.. cant remeber my pass word so have to be annon.

Wow Pen – that’s quite the comment. You don’t need me. You need you. And at the same time, you need to get out of your own way.

I keep telling myself that things will be getting easier in about 4 days, when Paul finishes work. I wont have a juggling act to perform every day. Ill let you know if this helps me put a few ” balls” down to do a better job at juggling. I liked your terminology though of ” getting out of my own way”… where do you come up with these things?

In some ways, im “in my own way” to protect myself. I know there is only so much I can accomplish and do and therefor my health and fitness takes second place to get all the “other stuff” done. I can always pick that up where I left off…. a few kilos heavier, no less, but with my sanity far more intact…….i think.

thanks for listening.

Right,

I’ve gotten the weekend off and I’ll be there with bells on.

I’ll be organising it in the next few days.

Party at Craig’s place later on.

Cheers
