Hello Anne,

Thank you so much for your kindness.

No need for guilt here!
Health is not some elusive brass ring requiring extreme sarifice and poverty,
It is within of our grasp in the everyday choices we make.
Its the grilled salmon instead of the cheeseburger and the going to the park instead of going for ice cream.

There is a book I want to read called Eat This, Not That by David Zinczenko. David is from Mens' Health magazine.
He is practical and trying to teach people to make better choices where they are.

I'll let you know how it goes...

()
Tami

Hiya Kirstie,

Glad you enjoyed the review, save your money,
if you're curious, borrow your friend's book when she's done.
By the way, did your friend like it?
I think the authors were betting on a trendy factor to make money off the book, not true self-help,
But hey, it worked it is a New York Times best seller and they just came out with a cookbook, Skinny Bitch in the Kitch.
(If your friend is interested in the sequel).

()
Tami

Hi Dirty Joggers,

Thank you for your comment!
Yeah, Victoria is not really known for being one of the great thinkers of our time, is she?
Don't worry, there's probably no words in her copy, just can't see her... well, reading anything.

()
Tami

Great review Tami,

I love your writing style. I don't really want to be "skinny" just healthy, and I definitely don't want to be a "bitch". And somehow I have to live in the real world with limited finances so the suggestions in the book didn't sound very practical.

I'm prone to being a bit gullible, so you've saved me the stress of the inevitable (short term) guilt trip I would have taken if I had read this book. Thanks heaps. Keep up the great work.

Anne

Tami,
Cool review! I had heard about this book from a friend and your review was a cracker - wont be purchasing this one. Don't blame you for being mad about the salmon either. I love your writing style, very creative and funny.
Cheers
Kirstie

Go Tami - thanks for a great and very honest review.
As a subscriber to 4 of the 7 sins on a regular basis, I'm up for healthy, but prefer moderation with occasional indulgence rather than cutting everything out.

As an ex-environmental scientist, I also know that some chemicals aren't great, but frankly I'm much more worried about potential brain damage from mobile phone use than drinking one diet soda a day (which is my limit).

grouse review

Miss Jojo

Hi Tami,
thanks for the review of this Book. I admit, I have seen it and thought about buying it. But on the same note Victoria Bekham has been seen toting about the book and saying how brilliant it is - which doesn't bode well with me!!
You've saved me 20 odd something dollars - thanks! :)
