Good morning (afternoon, evening) Rock Stars. Hope you’re all bursting out of your skin with energy, excitement, passion and an annoyingly good attitude today. Not literally (bursting) of course, that would be messy. Handy thing skin.
Well, our Shove with Love post (28 days to change that killer habit) has gone off like a frog in a sock here at medotcom. It seems that plenty of us still have at least one significant destructive habit that needs to go. Don’t you Habit Changers forget that every Friday is your update day; your chance to tell the rest of us how you’re travelling with your goal, your challenges and your commitment to change. And depending on how you’re progressing, we may be compelled to give you a cyberhug, a cyberkick in the butt, a finger-pointing lecture or some words of encouragement. ‘Cause we care. Of course. It’s all about creating momentum, forming new (permanent) habits, losing the bullshit excuses, being absolutely serious about, realistic about, and committed to – change. Forever change. This ain’t gonna be another failed, short-term attempt unless YOU let that happen. At some stage we’ve all gotta stop trying stuff and start doing stuff. Once and for all. Lecture over.
I feel better.
Some news:
RYL Workshops
Baldy and I are currently exploring the possibility and feasibility of conducting RYL Workshops in the following cities: Sydney, Perth, Brisbane and Los Angeles. The reason these places are on our radar is because the enquiries and feedback we’ve had suggest that they might be viable locations to run our one-day program. But then again maybe they’re not. We would appreciate your input, suggestions, feedback and advice on the matter. I’m currently in negotiation with someone in L.A. who is looking to run an open-to-the-public RYL workshop some time in the second half of 2008, but as I have no profile in the States (beyond this site), that might prove to be something of a challenge. We’ll see. Workshop for three anyone? If the idea of a RYL workshop in your area is of interest to you, let us know via the comment thingy at the bottom of this post or send us an email. Or, if you would like to help us organise and facilitate (practically and logistically) a workshop in your area – let us know – we’ll put you on the payroll!
A Melbourne get-together.
Following a little prompting, Baldy and I thought that we might organise a humble little get-together for you Melbournites. A little brunch, perhaps a coffee or two, some stimulating conversation and possibly a few laughs. The point of these infrequent gatherings is to have some fun, connect with some like-minded people, say hi to the Bald Man and I and of course, to bring me cheesecake. Only serious.
It’s usually a very informal and unsophisticated gathering, so don’t feel intimidated or uncomfortable to come along. Love to see you there.
When: Saturday June 7, 11.00am
Where: Sarands Restaurant, 532 Hampton Street, Hampton. Ph: 03 95988944.
(Just kidding about the cheesecake)
Enjoy your day Kids.
Ciao.

Thank you for inspiring people to change their habits. Here is some advice for successful changes:
The definitions we give to things are tremendously important. In fact, they are so vastly significant that it is one of the top secrets of the universe! When you change your thoughts, beliefs, definitions, perspectives or your imagination/visualization, then you change your experience. I would even go as far as to say that even changing your perspective on dreams would influence your reality since everything is a reflection of everything else.
With that said let us look at what the most common thoughts, beliefs, and perspectives are on breaking bad habits.
1. Bad habits are extremely difficult to break.
2. It takes patience, practice, and persistence to break habits.
3. Old bad habits always die-hard.
4. Bad habits are powerful since they are unconscious reactions to conditioned and programmed behavior patterns.
By the means of thoughts, beliefs, and perspectives in this nature, it is understandable that the common reality and experience of breaking bad habits are in effect of being extremely difficult to change. If you believe in any of the above statement or anything similar to them then your belief will be your experience for the reason that you are only allowing one suggestion of choice for your perspective to experience and give power to that choice. The only way around this experience is to change your disempowering limited choice of thoughts, beliefs, and perspectives to an empowering one.
The best way to do this is to adopt the belief that is directly opposite from the old limited belief. For example, all limiting beliefs can be broken down to saying, “I can’t” or “Not possible” therefore the belief you would want is one that says“, I can,” or “It is possible”. You change your mind then your experience matches the change in your mind for the reason that you open up another route for the mind to take.
Thank you again Craig!
What about us poor West Australian peoples. How come we always miss out.
Trying to get to RYL, but its either hitch hike to Melbourne and come to the gathering OR fly to Melbourne and stand outside and listen with a glass to the door.
Sadly the child being in hospital resulted in a severe loss of income, which results in LJ more than likely not being able to attend
Can you come to Perth pleeeeease.
I’ll bring you cheesecake!
I’m begging now. Pathetic isn’t it?
LJ
Sorry but I think Los Angeles is the capital of cheesecakes…
Coming from french tastebuds it says a lot!
Would love to see you in Brisbane if you come!

Hi Nicholas.. That’s some comment!
Thanks for sharing some sound advice…
Cheers.
Hello LJ – did you not read Perth on the list in my post? You need to polish your specs…
Exactly how much cheesecake will you bring? It’s all about the cake – you know that.
( )
Hello Anon 1.
LA is the capital of cheescakes?
I’m there.
Now, if only I could get there without going through that very yucky LAX!
Hi Shelley,
Doh! Long weekend.. really?
Oh well, looks like it could be me an the bald Man!

I look forward to meeting you and getting an autograph…

Hello Mr Harper,
Seeing as you mention CHEESECAKE at every given opportunity, it is evident that this is your addiction (or one of…)
If you don’t stop riling us up about “feeding” and thus enabling this addiction of yours, I shall have to come over and eat them all myself (just to spare you the calories, of course)
Perhaps you might like to join the 28 day cheesecake-free break-a-habit bandwagon with us?
NO CHEESECAKE FOR YOU!!!!!!
(x)
Hi there Craig,

I joined the 28 day challenge and ever since I seem to have this little song going over in my head….I’m sure you would know the one….bad habits (la,da, dee, da !) can’t help myself (la,da,dee,da !)…got so maaany…BAD HABITS ! re June 7th: When you talk about cheesecake, Craig, are you actually sharing it?
If so, I WILL be there.
Only kidding.I hope I can be there.
The dogs definitely are really liking the new routine, and I ‘think’ my husband is.
I’m keeping a little diary of the journey, so will update properly on Friday. I promise I will try to keep it brief!
have a great day.
Hello kb… interesting notion.
No addiction here… just all-too-infrequent cheesecake moments. I’ve only eaten it twice this year!
(for two weeks at a time! – LOL)
( )
Hi Moni… yep, Birsbane is looking likely – we’ll keep you posted… ( ) – nice singing BTW
Enjoy your trip eggcarton… ( )
Hello Jess and Emma… Adelaide huh?
Okay – it’s on the list.
( ) x 2
Now that’s what I wanna see; a bell-wearing, cheesecake-carrying Pet… ( )
OK Briar – I look forward to it.. ( )
HI Craig,
I’d be at RYL Sydney… for sure.
As for bringing cheesecake… you know I put out!!
Asma
Aaaah Asma – I could say so many (mildy amusing) things about your comment but as I’m meant to be grown-up and responsible, I’m gonna have to bite my tongue…
See you at RYL Sydney.. ( )
Well I guess I stand corrected…so much for my shove with love
Good news is that you shouldn’t have a problem sampling the 30 varieties on offer at the Cheesecake Factory when you make it out to LA…
I just wanted to drop in and offer my support to any of your commentors who are tackling the 28 day challenge. I will be overcoming my challenges tonight – not to have a wine – and just wanted to encourage anyone who needs it, to stick with it!
Craig and his caring sledgehammer and his forum will give us all another kickstart on Friday, I’m sure. In the meantime – Go Team !
Hello kb… 30 varieties? See you soon
Nice encouraging Anon 3….
Do people participate in your workshops or is it just you talking? Does it involve group work with lots of butcher paper, thick markers, horrible herbal teas with names like hibiscus & crappy plain biscuits with no cream centres? I’ve had enough of those to last a life time. Give me something different & i’ll come.
ange
count me in for Perth pretty please
may have to leave the cheesecake but if there’s any creamy, no too creamy with some meringue and choc and maybe a few blueberries for good health, well I’ll be up for that.
Hi Craig
Just wanted to add another vote for RYL in Brisbane.
Hey Craig, will put a further feather in your cap for Perth! I’d LURVE to be there, and look forward to meeting you! Forget the cheesecake, you may get an overload!, – but I’ll bring you some sushi made with a smidgen of brown rice and a nice spread of nutritious lean healthy fillings if it happens to be a BYO picnic or BBQ!
Pip
I’ll keep the herbal teas to a minimum Ange… No, not just me talking – thankfully.
You’re counted Anon 4…
Okay Anon 5 – Brisbane… noted. Thanks…
Hi Pip – sushi? Can sushi be made with chicken?… Perth’s looking okay BTW… we just need a venue!
( )
I’ll volunteer my house! We can have it on the front lawn LOL.
Just being silly. Being sick does that to you.
I’ve spoken to a few Perth people and they to, said they would love a visit from Mr Bossy Cheesecake Pants. (Better than Spongebob Squarepants isn’t it?)
Can’t wait. I don’t feel so bad about missing Melbourne now (well I do, cos I wanted to come home and see everyone and everything I love) But hey, I’ll take Perth.
As for the cheesecake. We have chocolate or vanilla or cherry or a mars bar cheese cake. I can make any or all of the above.
Take your pick!
LJ
I just started reading your blog and don’t get the cheese cake comments, but if you want the best you’ve ever eaten, bring your presentation to Kansas City, Missouri, which is almost the center of the United States. I can bring the best award winning cheese cake you ever tasted, plus introduce you to midwest barbeque. Forget LA, come to KC!
