Okay, here it is… be afraid.
For those of you who have been asking for the watchable (vs the readable) post… we can all blame you; clearly I’m no Brad Pitt, George Clooney or Matt Damon.
Or even Danny DeVito.
This post is a trial.. it could be the first of many.. or it could be one of those great ideas that never quite worked and slid quietly into cyber-obscurity … kind of like the DeLorean of the blogosphere.
The production quality is not exactly Hollywood (waddya expect on a four dollar budget) … the sound is average, the lighting is 5 out of 10 and Johnnie wouldn’t let me wear make-up (he did allow the stilletos though).. so I’m not pretty at all… other than that… it’s fantastic.
Seriously, take a peek, let us know what you think… they should only get better from here.
Perhaps not.
If you’re an overseas visitor I hope you can understand my extremely sophisticated(!) Australian accent…. enjoy.

Hey Craig, Like your work mate. Really liked the video. Fantastic concept. Can’t wait for the next edition. Also liked the 4 variables of change. Haven’t heard it put that way before. Good Stuff.
Ben from Geelong
Hey Ben,
I’ve been told I have a good head for radio… but thanks for the nice words!
Cheers.
I loved the scene where you offered him a hug. Hilarious
Loved the post – I’ll take Craig TV over the idiot box any day!
I saw an article in the paper the other day stating that either changes in diet, changes in exercise or a combination of the two can be equally effective for losing weight. My initial reaction is that yes, you could lose weight using any of those methods, but surely combining diet and exercise is by far the healthiest option.
Your thoughts?

Great to finaly see and hear you. It was well worth the wait. Funny and educational. I think video is a great medium for you.
P.S. Leave Johnnie alone!

WOW!
I have been following your blog for the past two months. It is one of the top three in my google reader. Thank you for your on going inspiration, motivation, and commitment to personal development. Your video made a real connection with. I hope we can see more of you.
I know you like visitors to tell you where they are from. I am from Bucharest in Romania.
Hi Jon,
I saw the fear in his eyes.
I love that.
Cheers.
Hi GG,
you’re right.. the combination of diet and exercise is the go.
Always.
Cheers.
Hi Liz.
Thanks.
I love Johnnie… I pick on him for his own good!
Anyway… he started it!
Cheers.
(ps. I don’t really pick on him.)
Hi Pereteanu…
Hey Thanks, you’re welcome.
We’ll probably do a video post weekly.
Take care.
Hi Craig, I love watching you on Channel 10 with David and Kim. Personally, I learn more by watching and listening than I do from reading. For me this is a great addition to your web site.
Thanks
Margo
You’re HOT and FUNNY!
How would you like to meet me for coffee. Oh! I forgot to mention it’s Ambers Music Cafe, Gauteng, Johannesburg, South Africa?? Thought we might talk about personal growth, or not talk at all!
Hi Margo,
thanks for your feedback… as you know the site is a work in progress.. so if people enjoy the video posts… I’ll do more of them (it’s much easier and quicker to talk than write!)
Cheers..
ps. I’m on Channel Ten tomorrow (Thursday)
Hi Jade,
I would love to meet you for a coffee… there are just a few small geographical and practical issues to negotiate first.
Now… where’s that passport?
Here, have a cyberhug until I get there ( )
You are absolutely right. I have been following a maintenance program for the past 10 years and wondered why I look the same. No one has ever explained to me the theory of stressing your body for adaption. Honestly, is my gynasium negligent, ignorant, or uneducated in the way that they set programs for me (clients). I contacted my gym today and asked them about an assessment and a progressive program. I have spent $12,000 over the last 10 years for the right to stay the same. Thank you for your independent advice on this. Now, maybe I can start to see results. This may not be the forum for this but how do you find the right gym/program that follows your advice as I’m not in Brighton Victoria.

(Top Gun) Remember the scene near the end of the movie when the pilots have just returned to the carrier after killing a bunch of Russians, and Maverick and Iceman (Val Kilmer) approach each other? Iceman says, “Hey, Maverick, you can be my wingman any day.” And Maverick replies, “Bullshit, you can be mine.” Jonnie you rock!!
Great video. Made me laugh! Blogs never make me laugh but yours did!
Love your blog Craig – Parana, Brazil
Where have you been.
Can you please do more of these.
I like the bit where you say to the camera guy – sometimes there’s no respect
You made my day.
What is a torn rotator cuff?
Great Blog.
Yanni
Hi Jenny,
Well now you know.
Call me on (03) 9553 8857 during business hours next week and I’ll answer your question.
Cheers.
Hi Yanni,
I’ve been here all the time Dude… where have you been!
I’ve been waiting for you!
Bout time you showed.
Yes, we will do more video posts..
cheers.
Hi Ilisapesi,
A laugh-inducing blog; now there’s a concept. Mmm..
Johnnie, where’s my chicken suit?
Ilisapesi, the bald man and I will do our best to keep you both informed and entertained…
He says thanks for the love
Cheers.
Great video Craigo! I’d luv see more of them. Would save a lot of reading!! And I think I’d learn more from them than from reading!!
Mmmmm…I think I need to change my weight program too!! Been doing the same for a while & a change would be good!!
Hey Craig, you and Johnny make a great team! Maybe one day you could reverse your roles where Johnny presents and you video!! That would be a hoot!!
Keep up the great work!!
Skater Boy
I definitely enjoyed the video post. You’re very charismatic!
Hi Lorna.
My mum doesn’t think so… but thanks!
Super video and excellent addition to your site. Adds a new dimension to the blog. Your personality shines through. It’s funny, you build a picture of a person from their writing, photos etc. Then you see a video of them and its completely different. I liked it.
Hi Craig, I’ve seen you on Channel 10 and always think what you say makes great sense. I went to the gym for 4.5 years doing the same classes each week and wondered why after my initial weight loss I stayed the same or gained weight (well, I knew why I gained weight)!! After watching your video I know why, sometimes the exercise you love is like the food you love, not very effective!
I enjoyed it. Reiterated what I already knew. I’ve got to stop “maintaining”….once I start exercising again that is.
K, Melbourne
Hi Kate.
Glad you liked it.
Cheers.. ( )
Craig
You look fat. They do say the camera adds weight. Ha ha just kidding. I think it’s great, like having a personal trainer in front of you. I found it very motivated & can’t wait to see the next one. The only problem is sound. Now everyone in the office knows i’m on the net when i should be working.
thanks
ange-sydney
Hi Sarah.
Sometimes we’ve just gotta do what works… rather than continuing the cycle of no results and frustration.
Thanks for your thoughts.
C’mon Misc Mum…
Get off the couch!

Hi Craig
Very natural, very funny and a lot of good advice on this video.
I have followed your advice from a few weeks ago and see a difference in my body shape already.
Keep doing what you’re doing it’s great.
Hi Craig, love your site and your video! Easily digestable advice. I have subscribed to your blog and I’ve joined your MyBlogLog community. Keep up the great work.
Steve
You go man, that’s awesome!
Every time I try making an YouTube video it comes up grainy. Yours looks so clear.
Go Craig!!!!
Eddie (K.C. Kansas)
Ange…
Fat!
Back in therapy for me.
Hi Steven A.
Glad the program’s working… keep it up and thanks for the support.
Cheers.
Hi Steve…
glad you love it .. I’ll do my best.
Peace.
Gotta say the video blog is a real hoot! You are such a natural and have fantastic screen presence. You should have your own TV show!
Personally, I’d prefer to watch the video instead of reading as I seem to learn quicker and retain more information. Shit…is this a sign I am old and senile??
Great work Harps. I can’t wait for the next one. And you know what? I reckon it would be a scream for you and Johnny to switch roles!!
Man that would be worth watching!! LOL!!
Cheers for now
Skater Boy
Hello Skater Boy.
Johnnie in front of the camera?
Really?
You’ve seen his head right?
TO Johnnie – sounds like you have created techno ‘change’ in our Mr Harper. Well done, – its so nice when angels visit our lives. Love the u-tubey idea. Think you should do the next video by the side of a pool! Just imagine, people exercising having fun and you giving a holistic view on greatness….jsp enjoying your site (a few extra clever staff and you will have the complete crew of anchorman!)
Hey JSP (Aquatic Exercise guru of Australia),
Johnnie the big, bald angel.
Hmm.
Me in bugdie-smugglers by a pool… I don’t think so!
xx
Gotta say this is not like a blog site it’s more like a social networking site. I just found you but want to ask; What is a budgie smuggler and who is Johnnie. Like Skater Boy, for me video is much better than words, but hey that’s just me. Glad I found you. Look forward to more videos.
Hi Abbey,
Social networking site huh?
Mmm.
1) Budgie Smugglers – really brief (brief) swim suit worn by guys (not me though).
2)Johnnie does everything on this site except write the posts. He’s way more important than me.
Glad you found us Abbey.
This is an important website, I retrieved it from geniustypes.com and I glean so much useful information from both. You’re on target and I look forward to the inspiration everyday at work. Thanks.
Hi Susan,
glad you found me!
Have a great day.
Gotta hand it to you Craig, that was really fun to watch. Next time, can we have an in-depth look at cardio?
Hey Eddie from Kansas.
You go yerself!
Cheers big man.
Craig
I know in order to keep making progress u need to change your exercise routine & constantly challenge yourself. But how challenging is too challenging? If i’m over 100kg and decide to go all out “the biggest loser” style, will i have a heartache? I know it’s the challenge is more mental than anything but is it really necessary to push that hard to see big changes?
Ang-sydney
Thanks for the great tips on varied approaches to aerobic programs. I like exploring the best programs for me as a person. You make a good point that what’s effective or productive exercise isn’t necessarily the most fun, but I seek results. Attitude and lifestyle goals lead to my most rewarding life and discipline changes.
Hi Ang,
the key is consistency not intensity especially when you’re over 100k’s… ( )
Hi Liara…
thanks for visiting… and your thoughts…. always nice to have you stop by!
( )
Love the video Craig! I feel like I know you a little better now.
Hi Brian…
You don’t wanna know me too well!
Tale care.
Hi Craig
Really enjoyed your video blog! You make a lot of sense in terms of personnel development and i have learnt so much from your site.
Keep up the good work
Leanne – Melbourne
Hi Leanne.
Keep learning and thanks for saying hi.
Hi Craig
Read your comment on my blog – http://personal-development-secrets.blogspot.com/ on “Self-improvement Works”. Just like to thank you for your great encouragement.
Just watched your video and I truly agree with you. For one to be in shape, besides watching one’s diet, the exercise routine needs to be age-appropriate and body-physical-appropriate … that is, if one had not been exercising at all, they will have to start gradually … especially if they had injuries before.
Do you think rope jumping could be an appropriate exercise routine for people of all ages and even when one has a knee injury.
Great job, by the way …Keep it up!
hi craig
julz from hobart here. loved the vid thingy (technically challenged, me!). going to the gym now even tho i don’t FEEL like it!
julie hobart tas
Hi Julz.
Love your work.
Get your arse to the gym.

Craig:
First time on the site. Wow…what a treasure chest of resources you’ve got here. I also want to confess that I watched the WHOLE video…in it’s entirety (that’s redundant).
I am going to learn a lot from this whole thing. The biggest takeaway for me – I’m going to alter my program tomorrow…been following a regiment for about 7 weeks and I can see that I need to stress the big organism.
Go Tim!
Stress that big organism!
Cheers and welcome to craigharper.com…………
Hi Jenhelp,
I’d stay away from the skipping rope if you have a knee injury…
stay with something more low (or no) impact like walking, bike or swimming..
Chers.
Craig,
The Vid is an excellent idea!!! Johnies idea right?? us bald guys know whats the go
Just a note, try oiling the chair
Again, excellent work!!
Damo
Vic
In one word Fantastic!
Hey Craig, first time here and love what I see. The video idea is great. Will def be back for the follow up.
You’ve inspired me, not my body, to go for a run!
Thanks Craig, I really enjoyed the audio. For the time poor – the audio enables us to maximise the time available. I was able to listen whilst doing what is usually very mindless, repetetive and boring household chores. Looking foreward to hearing more.
All I can say is… I am sooooo crushing!!!
Tami

Hi Craig, excellent new info for me. I’m fairly fit, 50+, vegetarian (not much crap)but my body shape has been relatively unchanged for last zillion yrs except a slow but determined loss of waist which is REALLY irritating! Is it my age, menopause, maintenance exercise too routine – can I do something about it by changing the stresses on my body??
